1. Common Mistakes and Tips for International Trust and Estate Tax Planning Clients

This session will explore some of the most common tax traps or mistakes when handling international private client matters and ways to mitigate or correct the problems after they arise. It will include topics ranging from typical planning situations, drafting issues, basis issues, trust administration items, property ownership, and reporting and compliance matters.

2. US Tax Planning for Nonresident Entrepreneurial Families

The presentation will address planning opportunities and pitfalls that apply to (i) permanent nonresident entrepreneurs; and (ii) nonresidents who temporarily become US tax residents and later terminate their US tax residency.

5. The Genesis Block: An introduction to blockchain, cryptocurrency, NFTs, and more

The presentation will provide a brief overview of blockchain and distributed ledger technology, followed by a discussion of cryptocurrency, stablecoins, and central bank digital currencies.  The final section will cover emerging areas such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
