This presentation is based on how family offices work with families of significant means. Family Offices are privately held companies that handle investment management and wealth management for wealthy families, generally one with over $100 million in investable assets, with the goal being to effectively grow and transfer wealth across generations. Attendees will learn the tools and resources available to family office teams and the best practices utilized. Attendees will also learn the recent trends and how have they have evolved over the last 10 years.

How to Have the Charitable Conversation

This presentation is based on charitable planning in the estate planning process. Attendees will learn how to initiate the charitable conversation; discuss charitable planning techniques relative to their estate plan, for example, split interest charitable trusts, donor advised funds or private foundations. Finally, there will be discussion on the ethical considerations of dealing with clients and charitable planning.
The workshop and dinner sessions have applied for 1 hour of continuing education credit
for each session in the following disciplines:
CLE (Legal), CFP® (Certified Financial Planners) and CPE(Accountancy)

The guest fee for this meeting is $65. University of Miami (UM) Law and LL.M. School students - $25 (limit 10 students). You may prepay by credit card or you may pay by credit card or check at the door (make your check payable to the Estate Planning Council). As a guest, if you decide to become a member of our organization within 45 days of this meeting, the $65 will be credited toward the fee for any membership.
Membership dues include the cost of all dinners.
