Elaine Bucher is an attorney in Proskauer LLP’s Personal Planning Department, practicing in the Boca Raton office.  She devotes her practice to the area of wills, trusts and estates, concentrating in the areas of sophisticated estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax issues and estate and trust administration.

Elaine has also developed a niche in “relationship dissolution planning.”  She was recognized in Chambers USA 2010 as having a "niche in representing high net worth individuals in pre-divorce estate planning matters."  Such planning includes the preparation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, elective share planning and working with a client and his or her matrimonial law attorney to ensure that the client’s assets are property titled and that the client’s separation agreement incorporates the appropriate provisions, with an eye towards the potential death of the client prior to the dissolution of the marriage.  She has lectured and written extensively on this topic.

Elaine also handles numerous sophisticated estate and trust administrations.  She handles all aspects of estate administration including preparing the federal estate tax return in connection with the estate and advising clients regarding sophisticated post-mortem tax techniques.

Elaine is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and a member of such organization’s Estate and Gift Tax and Asset Protection Committees.  In addition, she is Florida Board-Certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates and AV rated by Martindale-Hubble. She has been recognized as a top lawyer by Best Lawyers in America, a member of “Florida’s Legal Elite” by Florida Trend Magazine and as a "Florida Super Lawyer" by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine.  As an active member of the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, she is currently a Circuit Representative, as well as the Vice-Chair of the Estate and Trust Tax Planning Committee and a member of the Asset Preservation Committee.

Elaine is a member of the Board of Directors for Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach, and the Co-Chair of its Development Committee, and is the former Chair of the Professional Advisory Committee for the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Southeast Florida Division.   Elaine received her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
